There Were Choices To Be Made… |

My Massachusetts home had plenty of room for my two dogs and my cat, but relocating to Florida meant finding loving homes for my faithful furry friends. There would be no more big yard for the pups (Smokey and Clay) to run – and condo life would be different, with only one pet allowed.
Clay, a very large Italian Greyhound was already tightly bonded with a friend. He would be able to be with his new master 24/7 due to his unique work situation.
My kitty, Nickie never had much peace with the dogs. She welcomed moving into a “no other pets” home. My sister who is a cat lover took her in and it was a match made in heaven.
Smokey - a meek and beautiful Italian Greyhound that has seizures from time to time and needed extra “love”. The others were blessed with good health, outgoing personalities and very adaptable to changes. Smokey being a delicate boy would be the one to go south to our new sub tropic home.
The struggle at first was who comes with me? It was obvious after a bit of time that Smokey would be the one. I mean, who would hold him safely when he has his seizures? Who would be patient with him when he had an accident? Who would let him eat from the table? Who would allow him to be on the furniture and under covers with me in bed at night? Smokey is a delicate little buddy that loves the hot sunshine. Florida has lots of sunshine - perfect!!!!!!!
